Jury charter
Every juror signs this charter before reviewing a plant. Juror names are published once they have signed.
1. Composition
Each league has a jury of at least three members: practitioners with senior experience of running or improving plants, such as former plant or operations directors, academics in operations management and members of professional associations. Two jurors review each plant; the full league jury decides on recognitions.
No employee, contractor or shareholder of TEEPTRAK sits on a jury. Jurors may not be employed by a plant under review, by its group, or by a direct competitor of that plant.
2. Independence
- Jurors decide on the evidence and on the published method only.
- Jurors are not told whether a plant is a customer of TEEPTRAK or of any other supplier, and must not take it into account if they learn it.
- Juror fees are fixed in advance and never depend on decisions.
- TEEPTRAK coordinates schedules and documents but has no vote and cannot change a decision.
3. Conflicts of interest
Before each review, the juror declares any link with the plant, its group, its competitors or its suppliers in the last three years: employment, consulting, board seats, shareholdings above a nominal amount, close family ties. A juror with a conflict steps aside and is replaced.
4. Confidentiality
Everything a juror sees or hears about a plant is confidential. Jurors keep evidence only for the time needed to decide, never share it and never use it for other work. Interviews are not recorded unless the plant agrees in writing.
5. Decisions
- The two reviewing jurors confirm, raise or lower each answer, and record the reason for every change.
- The league jury decides on recognitions by majority after the cut-off; the chair has a casting vote.
- Decisions and their reasons are kept for five years.
6. Appeals
A plant may ask for a review within 30 days of receiving a decision. A juror who took no part in the first decision reviews the file and may confirm or change it. That decision is final.
7. Breaches
A juror who breaches this charter is removed from the jury, and any decision they took part in is reviewed. Anyone can report a suspected breach to info@factoryexcellenceawards.com.
